Gone With the Rising Sun

Can love be a monster? Can it captivate you in a way that you eventually feel the only option left is to pick up all your stuff and leave? Does love ultimately help us look out for no one but ourselves? All these questions are vividly painted in the lyrics of Gone With the Rising Sun, written and sung by Alex Moccia, produced by SRP's very own WajuBeats. The inspiration behind the production of this beat came from romance drama, "The Fault in Our Stars". Moccia's powerful voice brings it to a different dimension. The final product is the complete package - we are proud and excited to release this heartfelt hit. Take a listen and if you feel what we feel - share it with your friends and followers!

Abigail is born to create

image10 This week's #BTC is a blogger who is determined to provide a voice for others through her own. Abigail Rayson started up My Girls Tour with ambitions to create a platform for the young community to express and engage in multiple facets of life.

Despite the under 21s having a love for travel, and the majority being in full-time education, I feel that young adults are being made to choose between entertainment and information. But why should we? After all, the trends and styles that we are learning about and wearing, were they not originally created by new fresh minds? Are they not some of the best emerging artists, researchers and professionals fresh out of college? Why, as vibrant multi-faceted demographic, are we taught to seperate culture from fun and careers from creativity?

- Abigail Rayson

The content on My Girls Tour is all original. Abigail uses herself and her life as the subject matter and explains that in many aspects it becomes "a subconscious performance". She allows for the environment in which she places herself, to constantly change, but makes sure that she remains the same - true to her mission.

Sundays with city of the sun

I don't know about you, but to the SRP team, Sundays can have the most creative vibe to them, or they turn out to be dull days that never seem to end. To keep the beat going, this Sunday we are tuning into City of the Sun - three guys turning acoustic instrumentals into mesmerizing and inspiring melodies. Formed in NYC at the onset of the Twenty Tens, the instrumental trio has blazed a trail through NYC playing everywhere from street corners, to artist lofts, to galleries and traditional venues, to traveling the world for exclusive TEDx showcases. Voyce* is born to create

IMG_6626 “Born on the moon, raised on Mars, stuck on Earth, reaching for the Stars” - the tattoo on his chest defines this award winning Montreal based singer/songwriter/music producer's life, and the art that he creates.

This week's #BTC, Voyce*, embarked on his journey back in 2008. Two years later he was signed to a Nashville based record label. Well respected in the music industry, his work has now reached over half a million views on VEVO. However, just like for many of us, it has not always been easy. Pain – in one word – he will tell you, is his greatest motivator. It is the pain and struggle that compels him to grow and expand with each day. This artist holds firmly onto the belief that even through darkness there will always be hope. As a striving catalyst, this artist has immensely inspired the SRP team and we cannot wait to see and hear more of Voyce*.

Carrying a work of art is easy

"All ingenious is easy" - a quote that perfectly depicts the motto of Alisa Kovtunova, the creative personality turning luxurious hand bags into unique pieces for special clients. A team of artists at Art Buro "Make 1t Easy"  develop completely new, bright images, printing them onto bags, taking luggage to the next level. For a look that stands out, designers in Kiev and Moscow, use special technology and the drawings and paintings of professionals. Believe it or not, these delicate looking handbags are resistant to damage and moisture!

To place your order, all you need to do is contact the managers with a complete idea of what it is you want. Don't be afraid if you're having trouble deciding on an image for your bag - designers will help you customise a model perfect for you. After approving the model, you need to be patient, as orders are processed for about 23 weeks, depending on the complexity of the chosen artwork. If you're in Kiev or Moscow, the courier personally takes the order and delivers it to you! In any case, if you are a fan of "Make 1t Easy" from another city around the world, no need to worry - the brand works with DHL and other courier services as well. Despite being an exclusive, and recently created brand, "Make 1t Easy" has already become very popular thanks to its utmost creative and skilful team. You can be sure that Alisa and Art Buro make it easy for you to create your own personally artistic bag :).

Nothing can compare to the amount of beauty and excitement packed into one short week - yes, Fashion Week, Fall 2014 is upon us. We've been through some of the inspiring pieces and chosen a few favorites. More can be found HERE. To top it off, we want to share with you some of the tunes that have been playing out of our speakers this weekend. Route 94 and XXX88, the perfect club/lounge mixes, wouldn't you say?

All for one and one for all

A while back we started introducing new artists every week - ones that we collaborate with or are inspired by. Last week was all about that soft singer/songwriter sound, this week we're bringing back the hardcore and raw, more specifically - a mixture of Logic, A Tribe Called Quest and Yelawolf. Yes, a flow that you will rock your boat. A few weeks ago StreetRacer Productions met Joshua Andrew Boyer, more commonly known as DOSENATION, a South Jersey rapper striving for something bigger than just the fame and success of his own words. From 2007 to today the solid work has paid off and you will find Joshua across the web, on many different platforms - growing his nation. We've had the pleasure of learning a bit more about the artist and his vision, keep reading and you'll see why this rapper has so much more to give!

What is your earliest memory of music, and how has it impacted you?

My earliest memory of music is watching my Uncle Steve make beats in his apartment. I was so fascinated with how everything worked that I became eager to learn the language of music at any cost. This Art had me at Hello.

Who are some of your greatest influencers, and who do you hope to one day influence?

My greatest influences are A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and B.I.G. I hope one day to influence our youth into doing the right thing and spreading a message through music. Drop beats not bombs.

What do you think sets it apart from all the other great rappers/artists out there?

What sets me apart from the rest of the artist are that I never spit the same flow. I have the ability to switch it up in a moments notice and not think twice about it. I've always seen it like this "Create your own lane, competition can't compete with originality"! I have the ability to connect with people by the masses. Being a artist your fans need to be your number one priority, without them you are NOTHING.

What can we expect to hear and see from DOSENATION in the near future?

This year will be filled with a lot of Shows (expect a great time with a lot of excitement, energy and good vibes), my clothing, contest held by me, meet-and-greets and a possible tour (as of right now my locations are NJ|PA|NY). I am very excited for what the future holds.

What are three things you cannot live without?

There are only 3 things in this life I cannot live without and that is my family, music and God. I find faith in all of them, become part of something bigger than this life, follow the movement and become part of the nation #DOSENATION.

A superior September

The month of September will be an exciting one - the Born To Create campaign is cooking up with lots of new ways for you to share your art, a new set of artist interviews will be shared on the blog, and of course, new music for your ears to enjoy! Today I want to highlight some of our new sounds. Diversity and uniqueness is what we strive to embody.. These two beats have completely different sounds, but come from the same creative mind.

We also want to highlight some amazing talent that has been inspiring us lately. Billy Marten, a 14-year old singer/songwriter from the UK. Her soft tunes and melodic tenderness is mastered to perfection, take a listen here. In contrast to the dreamy sound of Marten, we are also in love with FKA Twigs, another singer/songwriter, and former dancer, also from the UK. Her track, "Two Weeks" has us hooked! Not only is her music unlike anything else we have heard, her unique and futuristic imagery speaks a language of its own.

(Mu)sick

As an independent music production company we love supporting and giving voice to all artists - big and small, all genres - from edm to classical. But what happens when the beats us producers create drown out the message of a song? Are we listening to the words, or just dancing along to the sound?

Today, we came across a video that has been spreading throughout social media. Poet and lyricist, Madiha Bhatti, speaks out about the objectifying and controversial lyrics of contemporary music. She pinpoints and criticizes many of the common themes in today's pop culture, themes that men and women alike have gone numb to. You don't have to agree to listen to this honest message, but I promise you that it will catch your attention.

Timely Fashion

Lately I have been hunting for the right kind of arm candy. Not only does it have to be timeless, it also has to make a statement - a statement that embodies your style. Watches can be much like shoes, one of those accessories that either makes or breaks your outfit. Here are a few styles that SRP has been keeping an eye on... Most of them appear to be somewhat unisex, with a larger, bold face, yet with classic style and color. We're a big fan of Triwa and Daniel Wellington watches, which is what you are seeing below. What's your kind of arm candy?

Don't Stop Moving

It's so hot I get the chills! Check out the new promo video for one of StreetRacer Productions' latest beats, "Don't Stop Moving". California's Annex Magazine did a recent shoot for a campaign they were running with the very talented Pia Mia, which is what you are seeing in our promo. Yesterday was spent in the one and only Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you haven't already visited "the burg", and you are in the New York City area, I strongly suggest that you do. The Smorgasburg, poppin every Saturday from noon-6pm by the East River, followed by Gorbals Roof top bar, was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
