Remixed

Cola White is back on our radar with their latest drop, "Dr Dre Compton Genocide Remix" - a collaboration with Ackrite & Ink Monstarr. You might remember this mystery of an artist back from our #BornToCreate campaign, where we were all wondering, who is Cola White, always? Nothing like an unresolved mystery.. Check out their hit, and stay tuned for more SRP hotness! Feelin it

3326645928

Reminiscent of a Swedish Nicki Minaj, Joy M'Batha is blowing away the Scandinavian rap-arena. About two months ago she came out with her latest release "Gladjeflickan", and has also recently been featured in many mainstream Swedish publications. But what's the buzz really about? Is it her funky choice in style, her darker past (very apparent in her lyrics) or could it be her flow - raw, real and rough? We can't wait to hear more from this new Swedish rap diva.

The 6th annual OVO fest

ovo-fest-2015-01

Claiming it was one of the biggest moments of his career, Drake turned last night's OVO Fest into a memorable one, to say the least: announcing Kanye West as one of his idols, dropping lines on Meek Mill, sharing the stage with Travis Scott (who stated he'd broken out of jail to make it there on time) and music connoisseur Pharrell. All in one night - perhaps what most artists try to squeeze into a year.

We can't wait to see what's up next in the career of this Toronto native sensation. And, with his newest recruitment, Roy Wood$, blasting on a Tuesday afternoon, all we can say is: keep it coming.

Cola White is Born to Create

Once you hear the name "Cola White" you will most likely never forget it. This talented LA Hip Hop artist is challenging the norms of - not only the music industry - but also the world of pop culture we live in today. With "The White Project" recently released this October, Cola White introduces us to her unconventional, raw and intense style.

"Everyone isn't going to love me and I'm okay with that. I live in my world and I understand that everyone doesn't want to live there. But for those who do, we are going to have a fucking amazing time"

ColaWahite

So who is Cola White? The beauty and artistry of it is that we might never know.

"Image is now larger than the music itself. As an artist you can be awful from a musical point of view, but if your image, affiliation, or appearance is what the masses accept, well then, you are golden"

To rebel against this norm, Cola White has chosen to keep her identity concealed. Hence the hashtag #IAMNOTCOLAWHITE. There is something to be admired in an artist that wants genuine and loyal fans based on the music and message delivered, and the on the image or appearance. It is clear that Cola White is not only born to create, but also born to impact.

For more Cola White, check out their newly debuted video "Inner Push" on the YouTube page of BLKDMNDS!

What are you chasing?

All for one and one for all

A while back we started introducing new artists every week - ones that we collaborate with or are inspired by. Last week was all about that soft singer/songwriter sound, this week we're bringing back the hardcore and raw, more specifically - a mixture of Logic, A Tribe Called Quest and Yelawolf. Yes, a flow that you will rock your boat. A few weeks ago StreetRacer Productions met Joshua Andrew Boyer, more commonly known as DOSENATION, a South Jersey rapper striving for something bigger than just the fame and success of his own words. From 2007 to today the solid work has paid off and you will find Joshua across the web, on many different platforms - growing his nation. We've had the pleasure of learning a bit more about the artist and his vision, keep reading and you'll see why this rapper has so much more to give!

What is your earliest memory of music, and how has it impacted you?

My earliest memory of music is watching my Uncle Steve make beats in his apartment. I was so fascinated with how everything worked that I became eager to learn the language of music at any cost. This Art had me at Hello.

Who are some of your greatest influencers, and who do you hope to one day influence?

My greatest influences are A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and B.I.G. I hope one day to influence our youth into doing the right thing and spreading a message through music. Drop beats not bombs.

What do you think sets it apart from all the other great rappers/artists out there?

What sets me apart from the rest of the artist are that I never spit the same flow. I have the ability to switch it up in a moments notice and not think twice about it. I've always seen it like this "Create your own lane, competition can't compete with originality"! I have the ability to connect with people by the masses. Being a artist your fans need to be your number one priority, without them you are NOTHING.

What can we expect to hear and see from DOSENATION in the near future?

This year will be filled with a lot of Shows (expect a great time with a lot of excitement, energy and good vibes), my clothing, contest held by me, meet-and-greets and a possible tour (as of right now my locations are NJ|PA|NY). I am very excited for what the future holds.

What are three things you cannot live without?

There are only 3 things in this life I cannot live without and that is my family, music and God. I find faith in all of them, become part of something bigger than this life, follow the movement and become part of the nation #DOSENATION.

Sitting at a small café on the Upper East side, we are excited to share with you some of the events from this weekend. Friday night our SRP producer went to an underground event on the Lower East side with the great Boogie V. A spontaneous night with fireworks, great people and great music..

Yesterday was spent in the one and only Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you haven't already visited "the burg", and you are in the New York City area, I strongly suggest that you do. The Smorgasburg, poppin every Saturday from noon-6pm by the East River, followed by Gorbals Roof top bar, was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Celebrating Iverson

It was an honor and complete thrill for the StreetRacer Team to be invited to Allen Iverson's retirement party at the Soundgarden Hall in Philly last Friday. It was nothing short of an entertaining and happening event with many unexpected guests - Mutombo, DJ Clue, legendary Bun-B, Guordan with Meek Mill's Dream Chasers, and Coley with the Revel Music crew were all in the house. Looking back on Iverson's career it has made me ponder on the harsh, but incredible road to success, and how hard work should never be underestimated. Ask yourself, what makes you think that you can make it?

Here's a peek at some of the highlights of the night!

"New New" by E Dott Valentine's Day Exclusive

What is love? " Love is temporary madness; it erupts like volcanos and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether our roots have to entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because that is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and that is both an art and a fortunate accident.  Those that truly love have roots that grow toward each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two. "

RealTrendz

We hope you have all stayed safe and warm during the vicious winter weather, and that you've had a happening weekend! StreetRacer Productions will be hosting yet another mixtape within the next couple of weeks, so to keep you in tuned with who the talented artists are...I present to you RealTrendz: P826T8d0

Could you tell me a little bit about your background as an artist?

"Am an artist from San Diego, Ca I consider myself a backpack rapper."

You go by RealTrendz? Is there a story behind your artist name?

"I called myself Real at first but then that dumb ass "I love new York" show came out and a nigga name was real so I went to Trendz because I feel that I don't set trends I'm a Trend setter. I had been know by Real for so long so I just added it on and come up with RealTrendz."

What is your earliest memory with music?

"My earliest memory with music was when I was 11. Me and my cousin was playing around with the computer and Magic music maker and we did our first song called Top Doggs and we called ourselves the Bonafide Hustlers so it stuck. My label is FCMG Flyy Council Music Group and my team I rep is Trouble gang."

Who has been influential in your career?

"People that influence my rap is Lil wayne, the old Drake , the old Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Rockie Fresh, Lil Wayne for his crazy bars. Drake because he is versatile, Wiz for his creativity and Rockie and Kendrick for their realness."

Could you describe this upcoming mixtape that you've been working on? What's the vision, ideas and sound of it?

"This mixtape is going to have you rocking your head back in fourth. It has this incredible feel that you just vibe to and that's just the beats, my flow is real nice on it and I speak the truth of everyday life."

Diamond High Neff Supply-20130131-204200

What's in store for the future?

"For the future, I'm going to do vol.2. I feel that fans are going to enjoy the tape so much and the cover is sick so its really an inspiration because I love music. With my label mate we should be dropping our sequel to our mixtape called Trendy Pilotz."

Why have you chosen to work with StreetRacer Productions?

"I chose StreetRacers Productions because yall look like yall kno what yall doing and yall look like a growing empire and its something I want to be apart of. I love music and I love rapping and StreetRacers can make the difference. Its about respect and loyalty and I know yall have it and with this opportunity I want to do more work in the future."

What do you think separates you from all the other hip hop artists out there today?

"What separates me from the other artist out is that I am a real guy. Money couldn't change me from the clothes I wear to the music I make and to the lyrics I write. I can make a difference with my music. Im no tupac but I could stand for something as big as him. Most artist do rap for money that's why we have artist like chief keef and the list of people like that but I do it for the love of rap."

Late Nights

A while back we featured rapper Damian Johnson on the blog with his mixtape, "Conscious for Currency". Today he is back with yet another hot mixtape, "Late Nights", which will be released January 31st on Datpiff.com, available for you to listen to and download for free! But let me first and foremost introduce you to the great Damian Johnson...

Could you tell us a little bit about your vision behind this upcoming mixtape?

" I wanted to open up a world where you can listen to music and take what you want from it. It’s a perfect blend of my inner thoughts and my secret fantasies. "

How would you describe the sound of your mixtape?

" I would consider it a fun hip-hop/ party sound. I love to challenge the mind and keep it working but at the same time make good music.  "

Where do you get most of your inspiration from?

" My mother has to be my biggest supporter. From advertising songs to coming to shows. She keeps me moving forward. "

What is your earliest music memory? Do you remember when you started rapping?

" It’s funny because I first started rapping when I was in the 6th grade and my friends would always tell me to shut up. It was one of the only things that I was passionate about. I got better and started making music that they even move to now. "

You've worked with Streetracers a bunch of times, how would you describe your experience collaborating with the producers?

" You can never have too much Streetracer! The best Production team I have ever worked with. They create new sounds that constantly keep you on your toes as an artist. I look forward to more collabs. "

What are your future goals?

" To create a brand of music that the world will recognize and keep making positive moves in life. At the end of the day, I want to read over my life’s story and be proud of each chapter. "
