Remixed

Cola White is back on our radar with their latest drop, "Dr Dre Compton Genocide Remix" - a collaboration with Ackrite & Ink Monstarr. You might remember this mystery of an artist back from our #BornToCreate campaign, where we were all wondering, who is Cola White, always? Nothing like an unresolved mystery.. Check out their hit, and stay tuned for more SRP hotness! Insane

Taking on Boston with a storm, Alex Moccia's (AY) most recent work with SRP producer, WajuBeats, is a true expression of rage, love and insanity. Hard and raw, this EDM track is one to share! We can't wait to see what AY brings next.

All for one and one for all

A while back we started introducing new artists every week - ones that we collaborate with or are inspired by. Last week was all about that soft singer/songwriter sound, this week we're bringing back the hardcore and raw, more specifically - a mixture of Logic, A Tribe Called Quest and Yelawolf. Yes, a flow that you will rock your boat. A few weeks ago StreetRacer Productions met Joshua Andrew Boyer, more commonly known as DOSENATION, a South Jersey rapper striving for something bigger than just the fame and success of his own words. From 2007 to today the solid work has paid off and you will find Joshua across the web, on many different platforms - growing his nation. We've had the pleasure of learning a bit more about the artist and his vision, keep reading and you'll see why this rapper has so much more to give!

What is your earliest memory of music, and how has it impacted you?

My earliest memory of music is watching my Uncle Steve make beats in his apartment. I was so fascinated with how everything worked that I became eager to learn the language of music at any cost. This Art had me at Hello.

Who are some of your greatest influencers, and who do you hope to one day influence?

My greatest influences are A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and B.I.G. I hope one day to influence our youth into doing the right thing and spreading a message through music. Drop beats not bombs.

What do you think sets it apart from all the other great rappers/artists out there?

What sets me apart from the rest of the artist are that I never spit the same flow. I have the ability to switch it up in a moments notice and not think twice about it. I've always seen it like this "Create your own lane, competition can't compete with originality"! I have the ability to connect with people by the masses. Being a artist your fans need to be your number one priority, without them you are NOTHING.

What can we expect to hear and see from DOSENATION in the near future?

This year will be filled with a lot of Shows (expect a great time with a lot of excitement, energy and good vibes), my clothing, contest held by me, meet-and-greets and a possible tour (as of right now my locations are NJ|PA|NY). I am very excited for what the future holds.

What are three things you cannot live without?

There are only 3 things in this life I cannot live without and that is my family, music and God. I find faith in all of them, become part of something bigger than this life, follow the movement and become part of the nation #DOSENATION.

Sitting at a small café on the Upper East side, we are excited to share with you some of the events from this weekend. Friday night our SRP producer went to an underground event on the Lower East side with the great Boogie V. A spontaneous night with fireworks, great people and great music..

Yesterday was spent in the one and only Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you haven't already visited "the burg", and you are in the New York City area, I strongly suggest that you do. The Smorgasburg, poppin every Saturday from noon-6pm by the East River, followed by Gorbals Roof top bar, was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Limelight

So what really makes someone famous? And who determines what fame is...? Those are some recent thoughts that have me pondering lately. All the while, I watch the StreetRacer producers work harder than ever: produce and create great content, make connections and reach out to the people, to you guys. But what really is it that decides who makes it and who doesn't?

Living and working in the heart of New York, you end up seeing famous people quite often. The hysteria surrounding celebrities is quite remarkable. I can't help but question if fame = talent? Or if it's all just a facade.. Well, there has to be some talent in there, but maybe with a larger scoop of luck?  I'm curious to hear what you think about fame. Share your thoughts!

Remarkable Isa

We absolutely love the combination of music and modern art. Have you ever heard of Isa Genzken? Most people probably haven't, but listen up, because this German artist is one of very few females to have her first retrospective at the MoMa in New York. She explores elements of audio using photography and sculpture in a way I've never seen before. As I did my research on Isa, I learnt that she is not your ordinary sculptor...her fascination with New York's architecture has transcended into multiple works of urban, expressive, and quite explosive bodies of art. We absolutely love her raw style, making all of us question what "good" taste in the vast world of the arts actually is. What do you think good taste is? And how do you feel about her portrayal and interpretation of New York City?
