Champagne at its finest

Kim_cover_web_2 Like a virus, the image has been spreading across the Internat and social media throughout the past weeks - Kim Kardashian West's cover spread with Paper Magazine's latest issue: Break the Internet. If you haven't already read the article, or seen the images, you are in for a shock. Photographer, Jean-Paul Goude, known for this iconic champagne shot, teamed up with Kim to recreate and modernise the 1976 photograph of model Carolina Burmont.

Although the images for this spread are highly discussed, one cannot argue the success and "photoshop" beauty of Kim Kardashian. If you look past the images and read between them, one might argue that the words themselves speak the truth about Kim Kardashian West -

A feminist-entrepreneur-pop-culture-icon or a late-stage symptom of our society's myriad ills: narcissism, opportunism, unbridled ambition, unchecked capitalism. But behind all the hoopla, there is an actual woman -- a physical body where the forces of fame and wealth converge.

Or is it so that those words about Kim don't matter when they are paired with photos like these? What do you think about Kim Kardashian's oiled and naked backside for in this controversial spread? What is it saying about our pop culture and women today - is it saying anything at all?

Limelight

So what really makes someone famous? And who determines what fame is...? Those are some recent thoughts that have me pondering lately. All the while, I watch the StreetRacer producers work harder than ever: produce and create great content, make connections and reach out to the people, to you guys. But what really is it that decides who makes it and who doesn't?

Living and working in the heart of New York, you end up seeing famous people quite often. The hysteria surrounding celebrities is quite remarkable. I can't help but question if fame = talent? Or if it's all just a facade.. Well, there has to be some talent in there, but maybe with a larger scoop of luck?  I'm curious to hear what you think about fame. Share your thoughts!

Celebrating Iverson

It was an honor and complete thrill for the StreetRacer Team to be invited to Allen Iverson's retirement party at the Soundgarden Hall in Philly last Friday. It was nothing short of an entertaining and happening event with many unexpected guests - Mutombo, DJ Clue, legendary Bun-B, Guordan with Meek Mill's Dream Chasers, and Coley with the Revel Music crew were all in the house. Looking back on Iverson's career it has made me ponder on the harsh, but incredible road to success, and how hard work should never be underestimated. Ask yourself, what makes you think that you can make it?

Here's a peek at some of the highlights of the night!

He's not your ordninary rapper. With a bio nothing short of comical and real, innovator and artist, Coley, is bringing a whole new flavor to the world of hiphop. Starting out on Wall Street in New York he hustled his way to start up his own record label. Just a few weeks ago he opened for Wale and Jermaine Dupree, and this upcoming weekend he is about to celebrate Allen Iverson's retirement. You'll find him climbing the latter of success over in the well-known Philly studio, Revel Music. Check out his latest music video below...
